Amusement Devices Safety

We are responsible for overseeing the safety of roller coasters, ziplines, inflatable devices such as bouncy castles, bumper cars, simulators, and waterslides throughout BC in accordance with the Safety Standards Act and the Elevating Devices Safety Regulation.

Throughout 2019, we undertook a comprehensive review of the amusement devices regulation. This included revising how we oversee safety in existing devices (mentioned above), as well as examining what criteria should be applied to new, upcoming, and potential amusement devices such as trampoline parks.
