Elevating Devices

If you have received a letter from BCSA indicating that evaluation of your application is complete and you are approved to write the exam for your class, please complete and submit the Exam Application Form (Form 1492), and submit to BCSA with your exam fee.

Locations

Exams must be taken in person at one of the following BCSA locations:

  • Kelowna
  • New Westminster
  • Prince George
  • Nanaimo
  • Victoria

Length of exams

  • Class A – 4 hours
  • Class C 3 hours
  • Class H – 3 hours
  • Class H+ – 2 hours
  • Class MR 2 hours

Exam Results

To successfully pass the exam, individuals must attain a 70% grade. Applicants will be allowed to write the exam three times if they fail on the prior two attempts. After each attempt, applicants will receive a “Notification Letter” from BCSA that will provide a breakdown of the Objective Areas and the percentage they earned in each area. This will highlight areas that are in need of improvement. An exam re-write fee applies to each additional attempt.
